The Cornell Real Estate Club hosted Jules Sherwood, Garrett Neustrom, and Canyon Law from Kenai Capital Advisors to discuss the firm’s integrated approach to middle-market real estate. Kenai Capital Advisors specializes in three core verticals including institutional investments, property and asset management, and their brokerage team. Jules and the team presented a Broker’s Opinion of Value (BOV) as well as an Offering Memorandum (OM) where students engaged with the deliverables of a brokerage firm. The team reinforced these deliverables through a walkthrough of a property model, breaking down the underwriting process. Jules emphasized the importance of understanding what drives real estate value and how to approach understanding the market as well as supply and demand drivers for each real estate property they analyze.
