In March 2026, the Cornell Real Estate Club (CREC) traveled to New York City for a two-day career trek, where members had the opportunity to engage with professionals across a range of leading real estate and investment firms. The group visited Hines, TPG, Apollo Global Management, Blackstone, Foster + Partners, and Goldman Sachs, gaining exposure to investment strategies across equity and credit, development, architecture, and real estate financing. The trek provided members with the opportunity to build meaningful connections, learn directly from industry professionals and alumni, and develop a deeper understanding of how different sectors of real estate intersect across the investment lifecycle. A highlight of the trip was CREC’s second annual Alumni Reunion, which brought together over 100 alumni and offered valuable insight into career paths across the industry. CREC is grateful to the Center for Real Estate and Finance for its continued support in making this experience possible.

Abhimanyu Iyengar, AEM'28

“The trek was an amazing experience where we had the opportunity to connect with and learn from professionals across the commercial real estate industry. We gained exposure to a wide range of areas, including banking, real estate private equity, architectural design, and development, which gave me a much more holistic understanding of how different parts of real estate complement one another. It was especially inspiring to hear directly from alumni about how they navigated their careers in real estate and the decisions that shaped their paths. It also reinforced how important relationships and adaptability are in building a successful career in the industry.”
